Groen Agro Control appoints Business Development Director
On January 1, Jelger de Vriend will start as Business Development Director at Groen Agro Control. In this role he will be responsible for developing markets and for the market team.
Jelger has more than 20 years of experience in the international fresh produce and retail sector. Previously, he was co-founder and managing director of Innovative Fresh, a laboratory focused on measuring the quality of fresh produce in supermarkets. He is also co-founder and director of InQuality. In 2020 Innovative Fresh and InQuality became part of Normec Foodcare, a leading company in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector. Jelger previously worked in various roles for Total Produce, Albert Heijn and Chiquita.
Groen Agro Control has advanced laboratories and research facilities in the Netherlands and Peru. The company operates for customers in the fresh produce and horticultural sector, and the food industry.
Groen Agro Control offers a range of laboratory analysis, such microbiological and residue analyzes for the fruit and vegetable and food industry. In addition, the company is well-known for its innovative research projects. Groen Agro Control helps its customers to further strengthen their leading position in the market of fresh produce, horticultural production and food.
In March of this year, Groen Agro Control also became part of Normec Foodcare. In addition to his new role at Groen Agro Control, Jelger will continue to be responsible for Normec Foodcare’s Fresh Produce Team and Innovation Team.
