The Netherlands plays a key role in global trade

The increase in Dutch fruit imports in 2020 continued last year with a total worth €7.1 billion for 2021. The main imported fruit was banana (1.5 million tons), oranges (589,000 tons), table grapes (483,000 tons), avocados (462,000 tons), apples (301,000 tons), pineapples (291,000 tons) and other fruits (2 million tons).
