Morocco’s leading tomato producer has continued to deepen its commitment to sustainability with the introduction of the zero-residue cherry tomatoes since 2019. Now, the firm offers its French customers 100% cardboard punnets for the tomatoes, with the aim of reducing food waste and the environmental impact. Based in Perpignan (France) and Morocco, Azura Group has worked since 2010 to reduce its environmental food print, and has reduced the total weight of its packaging by 43% since 2020 and avoided 1,200 tons of plastics since 2015. By 2025, 100% of the firm’s waste will be recycled. The Azura Fondation also works to develop local communities through multiple programmes. In 2020, Azura Group became the first carbon-neutral tomato supplier to French retail.
