Chile’s cherry exports to India skyrocket
Chile’s cherry exports to India have soared by 53% in the 2021-22 season compared to the previous year. Charif Christian Carvajal, Director ASOEX Marketing for the Asian and European markets, said: « In India, most of the importers, wholesalers and retailers have reported good sales of our cherries. In addition, we have boosted promotions, especially in regional cities, obtaining a very good reception from consumers. »
Promotions of Chilean cherries have been carried out on India’s social networks, attracting over 2.3 million hits, through opinion leaders such as Meghna, Chef Harpal, Rakhee, Varun Inamdar and Vicky Ratnani, among others. In addition, advertisements and articles have been published in digital and print media such as the TIMES newspaper in Mumbai, Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.
