Colombia to introduce South Koreans to new fruits
South Korea is an attractive market for various Latin American countries. Juan Carlos Coiza, Colombian ambassador to South Korea, said that some of the fruits that he had not tried since arriving in the Asian country are passion fruit and cape gooseberry. Aware that conquering this market with fresh products is difficult due to the distance, he nevertheless recommended starting to think about manufacturing products based on such exotic foods.
“Colombia is the country of fruits and that is very attractive for Koreans. We are carrying out a great campaign to identify Colombia as a country with this great characteristic, as a product of its biodiversity,” said Coiza.
Coiza also pointed out that the South Korean market is specialised and demands high quality standards.
“The work between the embassy, the chambers of commerce and Procolombia is becoming stronger. In June 2022, a meeting will be held with the intention of promoting this type of trade and industry. One of the best quality products of Colombia that has already conquered Korea is coffee,” he said.
