Concerning situation at Chile’s ports amidst Covid outbreaks

Chile’s port situation is causing serious concern for the Association of Fruit Exporters (ASOEX), with serious impacts on imports and exports. Last week, four ships were not permitted to enter their respective ports due to Covid-19 infections on the vessels preventing unloading and loading.
ASOEX called on the Chilean authorities to establish a protocol for adequately managing the situation as soon as possible: « We reiterate, if the current situation continues and assuming that similar cases will occur in the future, it will produce a chaos difficult to manage in our ports.”
