Cool Logistics Global 2021 to take place online
« Looking Back and Building Forward »
World’s foremost global cold chain community network’s annual event to take place online between 19 – 21 October 2021
London August 19 2021 – COVID19 continues to create an uncertain and volatile situation for international industry gatherings and business travel. As the world strives to re-open and allow people, not just cargo, to move more freely, sadly there are new spikes of infection in many countries and regions.
This is leading to rapid shifts in government travel restrictions and requirements and cautious corporate travel policies to safeguard business, staff, clients and suppliers.
National and regional in-person events are re-emerging which is encouraging. But with 85% of the world not yet vaccinated there is still a long way to go. The cold chain community has a vital role to play in making that happen and this will be among the talking points at the 13th Cool Logistics Global event this autumn.
After consultation with key stakeholders and out of an abundance of caution, as well as ensuring that Cool Logistics Global 2021 can safely host an international community, the Cool Logistics team has taken the decision that Cool Logistics Global 2021 will once again take place online. It is deeply disappointing not to have chance to host the global cool logistics community in-person in the great Port of Rotterdam where there is so much innovation and investment taking place in cold chain logistics.
However Cool Logistics will return to in-person events in 2022 with an extended programme of meetings.
Rachael White, Managing Director of Cool Logistics commented « We thank our host Port of Rotterdam and all our other sponsors and speakers for their understanding and support. We are looking forward to hosting the Cool Logistics community online for an impactful few days. Our theme is “Looking Back and Building Forward”. After such a tumultuous year and with many challenges still ahead of the cold supply chain industry, it is only right that we both reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future ». She continued « We are particularly excited to announce the launch of our new CoolTech day as part of Cool Logistics Global 2021 – watch out for future updates« .
From bananas to berries, pork to prawns, pharma to flowers, each cold supply chain is both unique in its needs and dependent on common global cold chain infrastructure, equipment and systems. Fostering safe, secure, smart and sustainable cold chain logistics and keeping perishables trade flowing across the world is not something that can be achieved solo or in siloes.
The Cool Logistics team looks forward to welcoming the global cool logistics community online at Cool Logistics Global 2021 to explore how we can collaborate and orchestrate across borders and stakeholders to achieve cold supply chain excellence for all.
