Demand for Greek produce soars

Greece’s exports of fresh fruit and vegetables for the first four months of 2021 were up 14.2% in value and 5.8% in volume, according to data published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority. Total exports in the first four months of 2021 amounted to 586,000 tons and were worth €479.2 million. Although vegetable exports dropped by 4.3% in volume, they were worth 12.2% more. As for fruit, exports increased by 8.3% in volume and by 14.7% in value. Apple export volumes were up by 28.1%, while mandarins were up 65.8%.
