Hema (Freshippo) opens 400 neighbourhood stores in 80 days

Chinese retailer Hema has established the Hema Neighborhood Business Unit (Hema NB), opening 400 neighbourhood stores across China in 80 days. As the third division of the Hema business group, it is regarded as an important move for Hema as part of its bid to enter local e-commerce. The first store was opened in Shanghai on April 28. As of now, there are more than 400 self-pickup stores operating in 10 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an and Wuhan.
