Morocco Berry Conference did run online on 7th and 8th April 2021
It brought together berry industry stakeholders from all over the world. We had more than 550 registered participants from 50 countries.
The event was a success as it served as a learning platform with the most highly skilled and respected individuals in the berry industry.
We had as main speakers Bernadine Strik (USA) who presented on Blueberry physiology and Pruning of Blackberries. We invited also Sebastian Ochoa (Chile) to present on substrate grown blueberry farm. One of our main speakers was Miguel Ahumada (Mexico) who presented about trellising for raspberries. Cindy Van Rijswick (Netherlands) from Rabobank presentation was about the perspectives of the market.
From Morocco, we had Amine Bennani, chairman of the soft fruit producer’s association who presented figures about the soft fruit industry in Morocco. Dr Redouane ChoukrAllah presented about water scarcity. From South Africa, we had Pieter Zietsman presenting about irrigation and James Dick presenting about Pruning of Southern Highbush blueberry crop. Elzette Schutte from the Berries SA association presented about the berry situation in South Africa. We had a lot more presentations about different technical topics related to growing berries.
The Morocco Berry Conference platform was also a networking space that has permit 7500 exchanged messages and nearly 5000 profiles views. The Morocco Berry Conference is already viewed as a key meeting point for those working in the berry industry.
