SIL will turn Barcelona into the world’s logistics capital

• The fair will bring together more than 650 companies and more than 300 international speakers that will discuss talent, sustainability and innovation during more than 80 sessions that will take place in 4 stages.
• The opening ceremony will take place at 5pm and will be chaired by the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez.
• The leading event in the logistics sector in Spain, the Mediterranean and Latin America will host on its last day the Job Market Place, an initiative promoted by Barcelona Activa, which will offer 16 jobs.

Barcelona,  May 2022 – SIL 2022, one of the largest fairs in the world for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics, and Supply Chain, and a leading event in the sector in Spain, the Mediterranean and Latin America, returns tomorrow with its 22nd edition after two years of absence due to the pandemic, with a renewed image to bring together companies and professionals involved in the supply chain.
The event, organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), will be held from May 31st to June 2nd in Hall 8 of the Montjuic-Plaza España exhibition centre at Fira de Barcelona, with the participation of 650 companies and visitors from 81 countries to network and share innovations and knowledge about a key sector for the economy, which is of prime necessity for society, and the pandemic has helped to make it visible, according to the XII Barometer of the SIL Logistics Circle. Among the participating companies, there is a large international presence 30%, from countries such as Germany, France, China, Argentina, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan, Peru, Slovakia, Ecuador, Colombia, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Chile, the Netherlands, Romania and Poland.
The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sanchez, will be in charge of presiding over the official opening ceremony, which will take place this Tuesday, May 31st at 5 pm.

Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB and president of SIL, emphasizes that « it is an honor to announce once again the celebration of the main meeting of a sector that has reaffirmed its key role in the proper functioning of the economy and society. SIL has always been a fair that has constantly reinvented itself and we are more eager than ever to bring logistics professionals together again to present the latest trends in an increasingly digitized and sustainable sector. »

Talent, innovation and sustainability will be the main themes

The Congress of the 22nd edition of the leading trade fair for the logistics sector in Spain, the Mediterranean and Latin America, will emphasize the value of logistics and e-commerce as key drivers that make the economy go round. To this end, it will bring together more than 300 international speakers to discuss the three economic macrotrends, innovation 4.0 and digitalization, sustainability and talent, during more than 80 sessions that will take place in 4 stages: Business Transformation, Industry & Logistics, eDelivery, and Global Logistics.
Inspirational speakers, CEOs, SOLD directors (Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics and Distribution), e-commerce and sustainability directors, managers in industry, retail and logistics, as well as global C-Level management executives will discuss global business challenges, their impact on supply chains, the emergence of new business models, and the cultural transformation that companies are currently facing, and will continue to do so in the future, in an unprecedented socio-economic context.

SIL Job Market Place to offer 16 jobs

On the last day, on June 2nd, the Job Market Place will take place, an initiative promoted by Barcelona Activa within the framework of the fair organized by the CZFB.
BOLLORE LOGISTICS, CELSA GROUP, Decathlon, Dupessey Ibérica, Matachana Group and Nou Transport are the 6 participating companies that in this edition will offer 16 vacancies in the logistics sector to cover positions such as account technician, Sales Executive, Maritime and Air traffic controller, coordinator of daily team management, industrial mechanic, logistics operator, international road freight transport operator, purchasing technician.
Candidates interested in applying for the vacancies must send their resume indicating the position that is requested to perfils@barcelonactiva.cat, from where the candidates who meet the profiles required to hold a job interview in the 22nd edition of the SIL will be selected.  Likewise, applicants will be able to participate prior to the event in a preparatory session via online access in order to improve their presentation to companies.

150 events organized by companies
