SUPROMED, technology that facilitates sustainability for farmers
PRIMA, a partnership in the Mediterranean area that strikes for Research and Innovation backed by the European Union, has created SUPROMED, an online platform to optimise water, energy and fertiliser use and increase their efficiency. It is for all technicians, farmers, and administrations to have access to information related to their needs. SUPROMED uses earth observation images (EO), agricultural warnings, agroclimatic rating and zoning, with drought forecasting tools linked to climate change. The project is composed by a multidisciplinary team of ten associates from five countries: In Spain (UCLM, ITAP, HISPATEC), France (SEMIDE), Greece (UTH, 3DSA), Lebanon (DIFAF, ULFA) and Tunisia (INRGREF, INGC). The pilot areas are Spain, Lebanon and Tunisia. For Hispatec, this intelligent platform promotes environmental sustainability, with a tool that allows us to optimise the use of resources and be more Eco-sustainable.
