ven 25/06/2021

Turkey’s fresh produce exports soared by 70% in April, according to Hurriyet. Exports of vegetables totalled US$98.9 million, while fruit shipments were worth $57.6 million. The most exported product in April was tomato, with a value of $41.9 million. Pepper took the second place, with a value of $27.1 million, followed by lemon ($24.3 million).

The EU receives 30% of the total volume, worth US$811.2 million a year. This places the agricultural sector at the focal point of Turkey’s green transformation. Among the basic components of the European Green Consensus are field-to-table, healthy, environmentally friendly food systems.
