VSSE forced to cancel expoSE and expoDirekt 2020 trade fairs
Due to a surge in Covid-19 infections across Europe and Baden-Württemberg now being declared a risk area, the Verband Süddeutscher Spargel- und Erdbeeranbauer e. V. (VSSE – Association of asparagus and strawberry growers Southern German) has had to cancel the two trade fairs expoSE and expoDirekt: The 25th expoSE – Europe’s leading trade fair for asparagus and berry production – and the 10th expoDirekt – Germany’s largest trade fair for direct agricultural marketing from November 18 to 19, 2020 at the Messe Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre, Germany).
Simon Schumacher, VSSE board spokesman and organiser of the trade fairs, said:
“We had done everything to ensure that our trade fair duo can take place successfully under Corona conditions. Unfortunately, the current situation forces us to cancel the fair after all. The countries from which our exhibitors and visitors come are increasingly becoming risk areas. The number of cancellations from exhibitors is increasing, our website recorded a sharp drop in access in October, which indicates a decrease in the number of visitors. Under these conditions, we can no longer guarantee the success of the trade fair duo with satisfied exhibitors and visitors.”
The VSSE reimburses the exhibitors for the costs of services not provided. Visitors will be reimbursed the ticket costs. The next trade fair duo expoSE and expoDirekt will take place from November 17 to 18, 2021 at the Messe Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Trade Fair Center) in Germany.
