WUWM 2022 Conference to take place in Abu Dhabi in October 

The WUWM (World Union of Wholesale Markets) 2022 Conference will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on October 20-22. The organisers of the event said that as governments around the world are concerned about disruptions in the food supply chain that could lead to food crisis, it is fundamental to get together and work alongside on coordination and a common pathway to strengthen the food supply chains and logistics. Wholesale markets, as major actors of the fresh food supply sector, can act together to build up synergies and preparedness mechanisms to minimise food disruptions.  
Wholesale markets proved to be a key actor during the Covid-19 pandemic, when they were recognised as major players to ensure resilience in the food systems. Governments around the world heralded their rapid adaptability in a crisis and work to guarantee accessibility to fresh produce during the pandemic.
