Colombia’s fruit exports surge

In October 2021, Colombia’s exports were up 43.5% compared to the same month of 2020 and 14.1% compared to the same month of 2019, according to data published by the Association of National Foreign Trade of Colombia. Agriculture, food and beverages account for 22.7% of the trade.
The main destinations are the US (27.4%), followed by the EU (10.5%) and China (9.8%). Among the main non-mining-energy products exported in this period are coffee (US$2.4 billion), followed by bananas ($782.9 million). Exports of Hass avocados are up 488% Y-o-Y.
